Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, recently welcomed two major cruise ships - Genting Dream and Royal Caribbean Spectrum of The Seas at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT) in George Town.
The event marked a significant milestone as YB Wong Hon Wai, the Penang State Exco of Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE), alongside key stakeholders, took the opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions with the cruise companies. The focus was on formulating strategies to elevate the cruise tourism sector in the region.
Notably, SPCT underwent an expansion, substantially enhancing its capacity to accommodate up to two quantum-sized cruise ships and 12,000 passengers. The terminal stands as a testament to Penang's unwavering commitment to providing world-class facilities for cruise tourists.
This collaboration between the Penang State Exco of Tourism and Creative Economy, Penang Port and specifically SPCT demonstrates a strong commitment to making Penang a premier cruise tourism destination in the region.
