On 1 March 2024, MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMC Engineering) celebrates the Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) new Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) Hangar Project's 500,000 Man-Hours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) at KLIA, Sepang.

The event was attended by Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad; Mahesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Digital Engineering Sdn Bhd; Ar. Ahmad Farid Baharuddin, Managing and Design Director, RSP Architect Sdn Bhd; ADE management team, consultants, contractors, project team and more than 350 workers.

During the event, Asroll Mansor, Chief Executive Officer of MMC Engineering, led the guests to visit the progress of the hangar. The hangar's 'L' shape design marks an engineering marvel in Malaysia, optimising space usage to accommodate simultaneous maintenance checks for multiple aircraft within a confined and limited land space. Hangar A and B steel structures, with their impressive 153-metre single-span rafter Pre-Engineered Building system and 183-metre single-span truss frame system, both are one of the longest single-span hangar structures in the world, with the capacity to house 14 aircrafts, a feat made possible by the meticulous design and expert from the Malaysian companies.

The massive structure of the hangar stands as a testament to the remarkable progress we have achieved so far, reaching an impressive 81% completion. Hangar A is scheduled for physical completion by 30 May, and Hangar B by 25 July this year.

"I extend my deepest appreciation to everyone involved in this project - architects, engineers, construction workers, and project staff under the exemplary leadership of Asroll Mansor, Vincent Tan, General Manager of Rail and M&E of MMC Engineering and Amir Malik, the Project Director. Their dedication to realising this vision deserves our heartfelt gratitude."

"I would like to reaffirm MMC's commitment to providing excellent products and services by ensuring our manpower is at the highest level of motivation. Upon the completion of the project, incentives will be given to appreciate the hard work the team has put in. This gesture underscores our belief in recognising and rewarding dedication and excellence," said Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh.
