On 13 February 2024, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, held the launch of 'Malakoff Innovation Challenge 2024' at Malakoff Academy of Excellence. Aimed at providing a platform to instil the spirit of entrepreneurship by materialising innovative ideas to refine the organisation's work and operational processes, the event was attended by Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Malakoff's Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff (MD&GCEO), Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtarruddin, Head of People Division, members of the senior management team, as well as Team Malakoff.
During the event, attendees were introduced to Malakoff's inaugural Artificial Intelligence - Nadia. Nadia provided an overview of the Malakoff Innovation Challenge 2024 to the audience. Following this informative session, the event peaked with a launch spectacle led by Anwar Syahrin and accompanied by Raja Iskandar, followed by the screening of the official Malakoff Innovation Challenge 2024 video. The event then continued with a memento-giving ceremony to all 17 participating teams from Tanjung Bin Power Plant, Tanjung Bin Energy Power Plant, Lumut Power Plant, and Malakoff HQ as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts.
In the past, Malakoff took on a similar challenge with the Lean Six Sigma Programme. During this initiative, carefully selected participants embarked on a demanding 6-month journey, dedicated to discovering the most effective and innovative methods to optimise costs. Their commitment and hard work were crucial in identifying streamlined processes for enhanced efficiency. Besides developing a team of engaged problem solvers, this initiative is set to promote team building and enhances understanding of other departments' processes. It is also in line with Sustainable Development Goal No. 9 - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure that aspires to foster innovation, build resilient infrastructure and promote sustainable industrialisation. It is also aligned with Malakoff's purpose of, 'Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities'.
