Dear Colleagues,


We are pleased to present to you the first issue of our quarterly e-newsletter, The Hub for 2018. In this issue, there are many exciting events and achievements recorded within the Group that will shape us for the rest of the year.


One of the highlights in this issue would be the official launch of the tunneling works for MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line at Bandar Malaysia North MRT by YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 1 March 2018. The SSP Line is the second under the Klang Valley MRT project and will run from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya through Kepong, Batu, Jalan Ipoh, Titiwangsa, KLCC, Tun Razak Exchange, Bandar Malaysia, Sungai Besi, Serdang, UPM and Cyberjaya.


We are also proud of Senai International Airport for being the first airport in Malaysia to pilot AirAsia’s Fast Airport Clearance Experience System, a biometric identification system also known as FACES. Additionally, Senai International Airport marked a new milestone in history by achieving its 3 millionth passenger in one single year. The year 2017 saw an increased in passengers by 10.6% from 2016 bringing a total of 3.1 million. Read the rest of the story to know more.


We’ve had our moments with the communities in this first quarter. In total, 10 CSR activities was successfully conducted by the Group for you to discover. Check out our latest video HERE on MMC’s most recent CSR activity to Islamic Arts Museum with Madrasah Tahfiz in Semenyih, Selangor which just took place a week ago.


Other achievements happening within the Group that we are also delighted to share, Malakoff’s strategic collaboration with Touch Meccanica. The collaboration was to develop energy projects in Pahang. Here’s a quick fact; Pahang has the longest river in Peninsular Malaysia making it attractive for development of large scale solar photovoltaic and small hydro projects.


A hearty congratulations is in order to MMC Ports for receiving two prestigious recognitions at the Global Ports Forum Awards in Dubai for the second time! The awards were respectively given to Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port Berhad for the ports contribution and achievements in their respective areas. This, along with several other activities can be found under the ‘In Business’ section of The Hub.
