Business Talk with Singapore

Manufacturing Federation

“Invest in Halal Industry Johor”

Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SAC), a member of MMC Group in collaboration with Iskandar Halal Park Sdn Bhd (IHP), Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), organised a business talk session with the theme “Invest in Halal Industry Johor” at Amari Hotel, Johor Bahru.

The objectives of this programme were to promote SAC and IHP as potential investment destinations for food and halal related industries and part of SAC’s initiatives to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), especially from Singapore.

This event was attended by more than 30 members of SMF representing various companies and agencies led by Betty Tan, Chairman Packaging Council of Singapore Industry Group. Among other honorary guests present were, YB Jimmy Puah Wee Tse, Johor Committee Chairman of Investment and Utilities; Captain (R) Haji Abdullah Shariff, Chairman of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Johor Branch; Ahmad Lokman Ibrahim; Chief Executive Officer of Iskandar Halal Park and Shahzul Jayawirawan Mohd Yunus, Director of Malaysian Investment Development Authority Johor.

The business presentation of SAC was presented by Gan Seng Keong, General Manager of MMC Group Property Division. In the same platform, Hershey Malaysia Sdn Bhd as a valued SAC investor also shared their investment experience at SAC and on its halal certification process.

The delegation then was taken for a site tour to SAC and IHP for an opportunity to view the development’s facility and infrastructure readiness to cater to investor’s need. The organiser hopes to promote SAC further as a preferred investment destination to attract more FDIs into Johor.
