Johor Port Signs Agreement with PELINDO III for Port Training Services

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group signed a Port Training Services Agreement with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (PELINDO III) at the PELINDO III office in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The agreement was signed by Shahrull Allam Shah Bin Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and Toto Heliyanto, Director of Human Resources PELINDO III. Under the Port Training Services Agreement, PELINDO III, one of the state-owned port operators that manages port services in western Indonesia, has appointed Johor Port to conduct the Port Management and Operation Training Programme for their Port Managers and Port Supervisors, to further improve their competency level.

Johor Port through its Port Training provider arm, JP Skills Centre (JPSC) will conduct the two-year training programme through lectures, site visits, case studies and provide on-the-job-training at Johor Port where participants will be exposed to real-management procedures in various port operations. The Port Management and Operation Training Programme module, consist of training for Container and Conventional Terminal operations, Port Strategic Management, Port Kaizen, Port Leadership and Port Logistics.

“The collaboration with Johor Port on the Port Training is an initiative for PELINDO III to improve our services and operational activities to be able to compete globally,” said Doso Agung, Managing Director of PELINDO III.

Johor Port is currently conducting similar Port Training programme for PELINDO IV. Apart of that, JPSC also provides training to major local ports, regional ports and collaborating with Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran Malaysia to provide Port Operational and Technical training for school leavers.
