Federal Port Authority Audit Finds PTP to be well Prepared in Handling Dangerous Cargoes
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group hosted the annual Port Safety (Dangerous Cargo) Audit, an initiative developed by the committee of Dangerous Cargoes and Safety Managers, Federal Port Authorities of Malaysia.
The three-day audit was officiated by Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of Johor Port Authority, in the attendance of Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP, various Federal Port Authorities, representatives from Malaysia’s port operators and members of PTP’s management team.
The purpose of this audit was to assess the compliance and implementation of international and local safety rules and regulations pertaining to handling, storage and transportation of dangerous cargoes in port areas. Findings of the audit were based on three different scopes; Port Authority, Dangerous Good Container Operation as well as Emergency Response and Preparedness indicated that PTP is well-organised in handling any emergency situation while managing dangerous cargoes.
Port Safety (Dangerous Cargo) Audit was initiated by Health, Safety and Environmental Department of PTP aimed at enhancing safety awareness and vigilance of the port’s personnel.
