PTP And Johor Port Participate in The 17th ASEAN Ports and Shipping Conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) and Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) members of MMC Group participated in the 17th ASEAN Ports and Shipping Conference, held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.


The conference presented 30 international speakers and indsutry experts addressing topical issues and challenges on global transportation and logistics, port management and operations, to the latest technology developments and how to cater to the current and future global trade environment.


More than 500 participants involving various parties such as government officials, investors, port authorities, port and terminal operators, consultants, architects, construction companies, equipment providers and service groups from the ASEAN region took part in the two-day summit. At the conference, Johor Port’s port training provider arm, JP Skills Centre (JPSC) was invited to conduct a port training at Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP). Dr. Nazry Yahaya, Assistant General Manager of JPSC conducted the session on “Port Operation Efficiency by Reducing Waste” to 35 employees of PPAP.

 

Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP was also featured as one of the conference speakers discussing a topic entitled “Industry Revolution Maritime Perspective – Investment and Technology”. Meanwhile Dr. Nazry Yahaya delivered a talk on “Regional Ports & Terminals Cooperation: How Intra-ASEAN Initiatives Can Achieve Astonishing Opportunities and Improve Competitiveness Through Training and Development”.


Apart from the conference, both PTP and Johor Port participated in the exhibition under the banner of Malaysia’s Southern Gateway led by Johor Port Authority. The participation of PTP and JPB at the 17th ASEAN Ports and Shipping Conference was part of the company’s continuous effort to increase stronger presence in the region as well as to strengthen relationship with key stakeholders.
