On 22 September 2023, Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora) took a significant step towards advancing its sustainability agenda with the annual event, Cyber Eco Hunt 2023. This innovative initiative placed a spotlight on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations spanning its entire value chain. By addressing operational challenges head-on and championing fundamental waste management practices, Alam Flora demonstrated its unwavering commitment to fostering a greener and more responsible future.
With the theme 'Towards Sustainable Cities', this event was held at Bukit Bintang and brought together diverse stakeholders to promote sustainability and responsible waste management practices, marking a milestone in Alam Flora's journey towards a more sustainable future. This is also in line with supporting Kuala Lumpur's aim of becoming a world-class sustainable city.
The Cyber Eco Hunt focuses on operational issues and emphasises basic practices such as waste separation, reducing plastic bag usage, utilising designated bins, adhering to collection schedules, preventing litter and flying trash, refraining from throwing rubbish in drains and promoting responsible waste management practices. Involving social media community networks, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), influencers and bloggers, they are invited to leverage their rapport and fame to highlight the positive impacts of sustainability efforts and the current issues surrounding it.
This year, 26 participants attended the event in an effort to garner a comprehensive understanding of environmental sustainability and its importance in shaping a greener and more sustainable future. The event was also intended to empower and equip participants with knowledge and practical tips on waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and sustainable lifestyle choices.
