PTP Wins Procurement Team of the Year - Small Org at CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023

On 13 July 2023, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group Wins Procurement Team of The Year - Small Org at CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023.

Received by Dr Irwana Abd Malek, Head of Supply Chain of PTP, the recognition was given to PTP after the Supply Chain team made significant improvements to their performance and culture, with the implementation of various improvement strategies through Inventory Optimisation, Digitisation/ Automation, Supply Diversification, Localisation, Collaboration/Partnership, ESG programme and others resulting in increased effectiveness, influence, efficiencies, savings, or competitive advantage.

Organised by Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and ProcureCon, the CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023 was held at Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore. It was first established in 2014 and has now become one of the most prestigious awards in the procurement profession in Asia. With more than 140,000 members in over 100 countries, CIPS is the only Royal Charter Professional Body worldwide that offers a global professional certification and qualification in procurement.

PTP has consistently showcased continuous commitment towards procurement best practices when not only it became the first company in Malaysia to win the award but has also successively won the category for two years in a row since 2022. The achievement is therefore a reflection of PTP as a leader in the procurement profession.
