Senai Airport City and Wiwynn Technology Service Malaysia Signing Ceremony on Tree Planting "Reforestation Collaboration Programme"

On 4th July 2023, Wiwynn hosted Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SACSB) at their Headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan for the signing ceremony on “Reforestation Collaboration Programme”. The primary objective of the reforestation programme is to promote a sustainable development within Senai Airport City and also to enhance bilateral relations between Senai Airport City and Wiwynn.


The signing ceremony was attended by YBhg. Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and Ms Emily Hong, Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer of Wiwynn Corporation. Also present Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of SACSB and the management team from SACSB and Wiwynn.


The Reforestation Programme is a testament of Senai Airport City’s commitment to promote a sustainable development in line with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principals, embracing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) guidelines set out by United Nations, in creating a green industrial parks, enabling natural carbon reduction and fostering environmental harmony in Senai Airport City and the surrounding neighbourhood.

  

The selected two thousand (2,000) trees to be planted within Senai Airport City development are a combination of edible fruit trees and forest trees, including Nangka, Cempedak, Jambu Laut, Mangga and Kasai. This combination was selected in terms of species, age and carbon absorption rate, studied by a Professor from Department of Forestry, in Taiwan.


Wiwynn Malaysia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wiwynn Corporation, public listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, is a leading cloud IT infrastructure provider that develops high-performance computing storage products and rack solutions for leading data centers.


In November 2021, Wiwynn Malaysia acquired two (2) parcels of land totalling 31.43 acres at SAC Free Industrial Zone. Currently, Wiwynn Malaysia first phase of the facility which serves the APAC region is already in operation. In pursuit of its commitment to sustainable development, Wiwynn Malaysia’s facility incorporates smart manufacturing technologies and have received Gold standard of the Green Building Index (GBI).


The “Reforestation Collaboration Programme” between Senai Airport City and Wiwynn marks a significant milestone and has set a benchmark of sustainable green industrial parks strongly advocated by Multi-National Companies (MNCs) moving forward.
