From 8 - 10 September 2023, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group successfully held its Family Day 2023 to celebrate employees as well as their immediate family members, customers, local community and other stakeholders for a fun and unforgettable experience.
Held at several locations within the compound of PTP, more than 11,000 members of PTP's community flocked to the site to celebrate the joyous event together.
With Light Up Your Life as the theme, this family day event celebrates the sense of camaraderie and inclusiveness amongst the variety of people from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, cultures, as well as professions that are all a part of PTP.
This year's family day celebrations marked several unique elements that were incorporated into the comprehensive programme, such as inviting selected Non-Government Organisations (NGO) the likes of Jeiwa, which is made up of professionals and career-driven women focusing in helping battered women start anew, as well as Persatuan Usahawan Wanita Bidadari, an NGO championing women's entrepreneurship effort. PTP also included local Small Medium Enterprises (SME) registered under PTP's sustainable CSR Programme: Kasih Lestari, participating as vendors selling products such as calligraphy artwork, tiffin carriers, scarves and brooches, homemade cookies and many more. In just three days of the event, the participating vendors under the Kasih Lestari Programme successfully recorded a total sale of RM128,000.00.
Various fun and engaging family activities were also organised throughout the three-day event, such as the Colour Night Run, Battle of the Bands Competition, Telematches, Karaoke Competition, Port Tours, Cultural Performances and Colouring Contests for children.
In an effort to become a responsible and environmentally friendly community, PTP also introduced several environment-based initiatives to promote their Environmental Awareness Campaign, dedicated to preserve our environment. The campaign aims to raise public awareness on the importance of creating a sustainable environment and respecting nature in our everyday lives, with no plastic-based food and drink containers as well as utensils used throughout the three-days event. Apart from this, all visitors were also encouraged to recycle, reduce and reuse to eliminate waste and protect the environment respectively.
The PTP Family Day 2023 was a success in every aspect; from strengthening the spirits of togetherness amongst the employees, revitalising morale and goodwill, as well as giving opportunities for employees to interact more with one another whilst spending quality time with their families; and giving back to the community as a whole. It was a memorable and unforgettable three days for PTP.
