On 25 July 2023, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, and Tokyo Gas Network Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Gas Network) have taken significant steps towards reinforcing commitment towards innovative strategies and industry development in the gas distribution sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing ceremony was conducted at Gas Malaysia's Resource and Training Centre in Shah Alam. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia along with Kunio Nohata, Director, Chairperson of the Board from Tokyo Gas Network represented their respective companies as the signatories of the MoU and it was jointly witnessed by representatives from both parties.
Commenting on the inked deal, Gas Malaysia's Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap said, "This MoU sets the stage to further strengthen the strategic partnership between both parties and I remain optimistic that it will unlock possible avenues for future growth. Collaboration has become one of the key drivers for business success and this MoU serves as a testament to our belief in synergising with a reputable company like Tokyo Gas Group."
The MoU solidifies both parties commitment to cooperate and collaborate with each other to exchange expertise and information for the purpose of an employee exchange programme. The programme aims to facilitate the exchange of technical and non-technical employees between both companies, which will address the business needs as well as provide an opportunity to actively participate towards nation building.
