Malakoff Participates in National Labour Day Celebration in Putrajaya

On 1 May 2024, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, participated in the National Labour Day Celebration organised by the Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) at Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya. The event was inaugurated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister.

This year's Labour Day exhibition is dedicated to showcasing the strategic mission of promoting welfare (Kebajikan), enhancing both technical and soft skills (Kemahiran) and guaranteeing tangible results (Keberhasilan) – collectively known as the 3Ks. These essential attributes are crucial for all employees who aim to lead the charge in digitalisation and demonstrate a range of activities in their respective booths, that can entice and simultaneously engage with the attendees.

In pursuit of accelerating Renewable Energy (RE) ventures to achieve an RE capacity target of 1,400 MW by 2031, Malakoff seized the opportunity to promote and bolster its Green Solutions product and service offerings which was exemplified through the showcasing of its Electric Vehicle charging station at its exhibition booth. The exhibition booths that were stationed from 30 April to 1 May managed to garner enthused participation from 12 ministries with displays ranging from automotive, Internet of Things, robotics and digital technologies.

Malakoff’s involvement in this event aligns with the Memorandum of Cooperation established with MOHR last year where Malakoff is committed to develop course modules focusing on RE, energy solutions and district-cooling system. Additionally, Malakoff will contribute by granting access to necessary facilities and equipment, alongside providing essential funding for courses and training facilities at its premises to elevate the students' learning journey for their professional advancement.

This initiative reflects Malakoff's ongoing commitment to fostering the skill development of the younger generation while ensuring its workforce is well-versed in the details of its business operations. Additionally, it aligns with their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 8, that promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, productive employment and decent work for all. It is also consistent with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
