TBPP and TBE Successfully Holds “Majlis Hari Raya Kompleks Tanjung Bin

On 29 April 2024, Tanjung Bin Power Plant (“TBPP”) and Tanjung Bin Energy (“TBE”) – thermal plants owned by Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff’) held their annual Hari Raya celebration “Majlis Hari Raya Kompleks Tanjung Bin” at Sunway Big Box, Iskandar Puteri, in Johor. The event was attended by Malakoff’s Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Clive Anthony Smith, Chief People Officer Encik Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtaruddin, TBPP’s Plant Manager Encik Mohammad Amiruddin Kamaluddin, TBE’s Plant Manager Encik Saiful Azlan Mahmud, ADUN Kawasan Kukup Dato’ Hj Jefridin Hj Atan, the Johor state authorities, TBPP and TBE staff, as well as their families.


Aimed at fostering unity among staff from both plants, this year’s event managed to attract more than 1,200 attendees making it truly a momentous occasion for everyone to strengthen bonds, irrespective of their diverse backgrounds. All staff had the opportunity to unleash their creativity in a ketupat-making competition, a Best Dress contest and also a Zapin performance by the students of Kampung Sawah Primary School, Pekan Nenas in Pontian, Johor.


As a tribute to staff who have demonstrated perseverance and dedication to the company, the Long-Term Service Award ("LTSA") was also presented during this celebratory event. This distinguished award was presented by Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Mr. Clive Anthony Smith, Encik Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtaruddin. There was one recipient for the 20 years category, 19 recipients for the 15 years category and 45 recipients for the 10 years category.


This initiative is part of Malakoff's ongoing efforts to prioritise employee welfare and well-being, demonstrating Malakoff’s steadfast commitment to supporting its workforce. It is in line with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal (“UN SDG”) No. 8, which promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. It also aligns with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
