On 19 May 2024, a meeting was held by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Putrajaya, JKDM Johor and JKDM Senai to increase the staffing of officers and the operating hours at the Senai Airport City Free Zone. The meeting was chaired by Tuan Suhaimi bin Hamid, Deputy Director of Customs of Putrajaya's Management Services and Human Resources Division and was composed of representatives from JKDM Putrajaya, JKDM State Johor and also JKDM Senai.
The meeting was held to discuss the requirements of an additional number of staff on customs duty and extending the operating hours to accommodate the growing demands of investors and industrialists in the Senai Airport City Free Zone.
Apart from that, a site visit has also been held for JKDM Putrajaya to better understand the operations, the development upgrades e.g. automation of declaration systems Free Zone Integrated Processing System (FZIPS) and compliance of operating procedures at the Senai Airport City Free Zone. The tour was held around the Customs Examination Area (CEA) building which has been upgraded and can provide more facilities and efficiency to the stakeholders JKDM and the Free Zone Authority as well as forwarding agents.
The working visit & meeting held Senai Airport City Free Zone demonstrates JKDM’s continued commitment towards development of Free Zone and encourages stronger bilateral relations between Government agencies and SAC as proof that SAC's industrial park is a preferred investment destination for foreign and local investors.
