Gas Malaysia and Northport Hand Over Corporate

Zakat to Lembaga Zakat Selangor

On 24 February 2023, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia) and Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), members of MMC Group, paid their respective corporate zakat to Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS). The corporate zakat amounting to RM3.5 million and RM2.6 million respectively, were presented to the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj during a ceremony held at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam.

Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia and Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport were present to hand over the zakat on behalf of their respective companies. Also present during the ceremony were, YAM Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of LZS; Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council and Dato’ Dr Haji Anhar Haji Opir, Mufti of Selangor.

Among other corporate companies participated in the zakat presentation ceremony were DRB-HICOM Berhad, UMW Holdings Berhad, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Berhad, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, and CelcomDigi Berhad.
