Malakoff Receives the ASEAN Asset Class Award at

the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Awards

Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, has been recognised as one of the acclaimed winners for the 2021 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Award (ACGS) under the ASEAN Asset Class Award category.  First launched in 2011, the ACGS is the outcome of a successful partnership between the ASEAN Capital Market Forum (ACMF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Aimed at recognising the valuable efforts carried out by ASEAN Public-Listed Companies (PLCs) in improving and raising the standards of corporate governance in the areas of protecting and facilitating the rights and equitable treatment of shareholders, this recognition is a testament to Malakoff’s commitment towards enhancing its governance practices by upholding its business integrity, creating sustainable value to its stakeholders and practicing transparency.

Malakoff is one of the 54 Malaysian PLCs to be given this recognition, out of the 234 ASEAN winners. Recipients under this category obtained a score of 97.5 and above or at least 75% of the maximum attainable score of 130.

As the company continues to play a key role in advancing the transition towards a low-carbon and circular economy future, this is a huge encouragement for all of us at Malakoff to further enhance our ESG efforts.
