On 21 March 2023, MMC Group successfully organised an Exclusive Media Familiarisation Trip to Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (Senai Airport City) and Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) for the members of media based in Kuala Lumpur and Johor.
This trip was participated by 16 reporters and photographers from various media houses namely RTM, New Straits Times, Bernama, The Edge, The Malaysian Reserve, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, Kosmo, Sin Chew Daily and Dagang News.
Upon arrival in Johor, the media delegation was welcomed by Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of Senai Airport City and the team at Senai Airport City Sales Gallery. A briefing session about the company as a master developer of 2,718 acres of integrated industrial development in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor was conducted before proceeding with the site tour. The delegation was brought for a visit to Custom Checkpoint and Free Zone area where notable key investors such as Hersheys, Mercedes Benz, Wiwyn and MyBrush are located. Right after the site tour, the media members were given an exclusive experience with a visit and quick stop on Sungai Pulai Bridge, another project under the Industrial Development Division of MMC Group.
At PTP, the media delegation was greeted by Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP together with PTP’s senior management team. As an introduction, they were briefed on the port’s latest business and financial performance, its on-going terminal and free zone development and plans for the Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) roadmap. After the Q&A session, they were then taken on a comprehensive port tour to witness for themselves PTP’s latest state-of-the-art Asset Digitalisation Program, e-RTG demonstration, Marine Control Tower, as well a boat ride to the terminal and free zone areas along Sungai Pulai.
The media visits to SAC and PTP were part of MMC Group's stakeholder engagement session. Besides increasing the company’s brand position and garnering positive media coverage, the event also provided the media with interesting experiences and valuable insights about MMC and its operating companies.
