Malakoff Provides Financial Assistance to Parents

of Mukim Serkat

As part of its continuous engagement with the local communities, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, handed over a donation cheque to the parents of Mukim Serkat students in conjunction with the commencement of the new school year. The handover was held on 13 March 2023 at Dewan Orang Ramai, Kampung Sungai Chengkeh in Mukim Serkat, Johor and was attended by Badrul Hisham Zulkefli, Head of Coal Handling at Tanjung Bin Power Plant and Md Yuha Ismail, Senior Manager of Stakeholder Management of Malakoff.

Through this initiative, a total of 174 beneficiaries from pre, primary and secondary schools received cash assistance. The warmth and gratitude projected in the smiles on the students’ and parents’ faces served as a motivation for Malakoff to keep the community spirit alive and contribute as much as they could to ensure community development and education for the younger generation is not compromised.

This event is part of Malakoff’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, focusing on the Local Community and Education pillars where it demonstrates a continuous commitment to support its adopted schools in Mukim Serkat. Besides enhancing relationships with various stakeholders and the local communities, these initiatives will further cultivate the spirit of ‘giving back to the community’ while fostering a stronger bond between one another.
