Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, participated in the 20th ASEAN Port and Shipping 2022 from 25 October to 27 October 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City. The 3-day international event was hosted by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam and featured several programmes, including conferences, technical site visits and exhibitions where participants could engage in dialogues on shipping and logistics developments with world-leading ports, shippers, cargo owners, importers/exporters, logistic companies and terminal operating companies.
During the event, Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port, participated as one of the main speakers in the conference and shared his views on Johor Port's journey towards achieving operational efficiency through his presentation “Keys Drivers in Achieving Port Operations Efficiency, The Johor Port Experience”.
Md Derick Basir’s presentation also touched on the many Johor Port initiatives which cater to the Port’s current and future business needs; the investments that have been made towards the expansion and modernisation of Johor Port’s infrastructure and facilities in order to address some of the capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
ASEAN Ports and Shipping is the leading annual Container Ports, Shipping and Transport Logistics Exhibition and Conference for the ASEAN region, provides opportunities for the participants to network and at the same time gain a better understanding of some of the current issues affecting the industry.
Johor Port’s participation in the 20th ASEAN Port and Shipping 2022 event is part of the Company’s marketing initiatives in promoting the port’s services and connectivity to a wider audience and at the same time providing an opportunity to reconnect with some of its existing clients during the 3-day event.
