Welcome to the final edition of The Hub 2022
2022 was a busy year for the MMC Group, especially in the last quarter when members of the Group completed 43 activities. We are sharing here some of the highlights of the activities that took place across the Group.
Penang Port Sdn Bhd successfully organised its year-end appreciation dinner for key customers in Southern Thailand. The event, held in Hatyai, provided a platform for more than 200 key partners to exchange ideas and opinions and strengthen cooperation on various issues of interest to the country's logistics sector.
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) held its Vendor Day 2022. The programme, aimed at strengthening the collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation, attracted 34 exhibitors from various industries such as engineering and construction, information technology, consultation, logistics, marine, spare parts, and healthcare products. We are also proud that PTP appeared in a popular local documentary series Majalah 3. The documentary featured exclusive coverage on PTP’s young and aspiring future female leaders and their unique roles managing career in different fields of port operations.
Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport) organised a Futsal Challenge 2022 for its key customers. The much-anticipated futsal tournament drew participation from 24 teams and served as a platform that offered opportunities for networking in the shipping and logistics industry.
Malakoff Corporation Berhad has also organised bowling tournaments with its stakeholders, the Energy Commission and Badan Kawalselia Air Negeri Johor as part of its ongoing engagement and relationship building with key stakeholders.
Gas Malaysia celebrated a Health and Safety Day, themed “Nurturing Healthy Minds Towards Better Life” for its employees. The event was a testament towards the company’s steadfast commitment in encouraging its employees to lead a healthy lifestyle and nurturing a safety culture.
Johor Port Berhad celebrated World Children's Day with special needs children at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kota Masai and the Paediatric Cancer Ward at Sultan Ismail Hospital to bring cheer to the children and to thank the doctors, nurses and teachers for their hard work and care for these children.
Alam Flora Sdn Bhd took one step further in its efforts to cultivate the practice of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) among the public by organising the Waste is Amazing Fashion Competition 2022, a fashion design competition using reusable and recyclable materials such as used clothes, paper, newspaper, plastic bags, boxes, plastic bottle caps and aluminium cans. The competition saw 10 aspiring local designers from all over Malaysia, pitting their creative ideas in both design and handiwork, creating colourful designs inspired by anime characters.
On a lighter note, Senai Airport International Airport successfully concluded the third edition of Airport Music Weekend 2022. The local music festival showcased the art of musical performances with interesting line-ups such as classical music, pop, jazz, piano, strings, ukulele, drums, vocals and bands as well as K-pop dance. The three-day music festival attracted more than 40 000 visitors to the airport, who simultaneously enjoyed a bazaar with over 30 vendors - the largest number of vendors gathered at the airport at any one time.
