From 17 to 20 September 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd ("Northport"), a member of MMC Group participated in the 20th Malaysia International Halal Showcase ("MIHAS") 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre ("MITEC"), Kuala Lumpur. The event was officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Themed "Globalising Halal Innovation," MIHAS 2024 showcased a wide range of halal industry segments, including halal food and beverages, e-Commerce, education, Muslim fashion and lifestyle, as well as Muslim-friendly hospitality and tourism. Northport's participation in MIHAS 2024 was under the Selangor Pavilion, led by Halal International Selangor ("HIS"), alongside other companies operating within Selangor.
During MIHAS 2024, Northport also took part in the World Halal Business Conference, an exclusive platform dedicated to pioneering thought leadership and knowledge exchange on the global Halal economy. The conference brought together key Halal stakeholders to share expert insights and experiences, facilitating discussions aimed at shaping the future direction of the Halal industry.
Northport's participation in MIHAS 2024 aimed to attract business communities, especially Halal industry players, to engage with Northport's Halal business and initiatives. Northport also promoted its 'Halal Solutions', which included Halal Awareness Training, Halal Internal Audit and Halal Consultancy, positioning Northport as a key player in supporting the country's Halal ecosystem.
