On 30 July 2024, Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SACSB), hosted a working visit for Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, Chairman of Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and delegates to SACSB sales gallery, Senai Airport City (SAC) Custom Examination Area (CEA) and engagement session with SAC's Foreign Direct Investor (FDI) i.e. Wiwynn Technology Services Sdn Bhd (Wiwynn).
The visit was hosted by Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of SACSB. A presentation session was held by SACSB in showcasing the progress and achievements of SAC's developments in attracting quality FDIs and Domestic Direct Investments (DDIs) since 2015 to 2024.
The delegation was invited for a tour of SAC Freezone development and Custom Examination Area escorted by environmentally friendly electric vehicle (EV) scooters. Tuan Vengadesh, Superintendent of the Royal Malaysia Customs Department (JKDM), highlighted the significant growth in tax collection contributed by SAC's Freezone of approximately 35% of JKDM Senai's revenue to date and expected to increase in tandem with the full operations of the FDI investors in SAC Freezone towards end of 2H24.
The delegation then visited Wiwynn facilities, the General Manager of Wiwynn Mr. Dover Lui showcased Wiwynn's in-house training auditorium centre, Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) robots and the Automated Storage Retrieved System in delivering of the products for Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry around the globe.
The visit by the MIDA's Chairman is a testament of SAC's on-going commitment to stakeholder engagement and promoting stronger bilateral relations between SAC, Government agencies and investors, with SAC being the preferred investment destination for both FDIs and DDIs in Johor.
