Senai Airport City (SAC) Free Industrial Zone - Zhejiang Shenghuabo Electric Appliance Corporation's (SHB) Groundbreaking Ceremony to Establish its First International Automotive Facility

On 5th July 2024, Senai Airport City City Sdn Bhd ("SACSB") witnessed another foreign direct investor ("FDIs") Zhejiang Shenghuabo Electric Appliance Corporation's ("SHB") ground-breaking ceremony in Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone.

Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone is selected by Zhejiang Shenghuabo electric appliance corporation to establish its first international automotive facility. Zhejiang Shenghuabo Electric Appliance Corporation has the number one sales of wiper systems in China and the number one sales of seating motors with 20% of the global market share.

The development will spans over 20 acres of land located in SAC Free Industrial Zone with an investment value of RM350 million for its Phase 1. The plant will house advanced technology, testing equipment and automated assembly lines with manufacturing capacity of up to 3 million sets of wiper systems and 20 million sets seat motors. There will be a creation of 200 job opportunities for highly skilled engineers. The products will be exported to Europe and North America serving the well-known automotive companies such as BMW, VW, Tesla, GM and Ford.

Gracing the ceremony were YB Tuan Lee Ting Han, Chairman of Johor Trade, Investment, Consumer Affairs and Human Resources, YB Datuk Hasni Mohammad, Chairman of Johor Economic, Tourism, and Cultural Office ("JETCO"), Tracy Wang and Carolyn Wang, Directors of SHB and Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of SACSB.

During the ceremony, YB Tuan Lee Ting Han had expressed his commitment to facilitate SHB's development to be completed by April 2025. YB Lee further added that SHB's presence in Johor plays an important role in Malaysia's Automotive ecosystem, supply chain which is crucial to set Malaysia as a global Automotive Hub.

Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone continuous to be the preferred choice of Foreign Direct Investors ("FDIs") and Domestic Direct Investors ("DDI") with SAC's value proposition of plug-and-play development model in Malaysia.
