The 2024 Hajj operations successfully concluded with the safe return of 1,677 Hajj pilgrims to Johor Bahru scheduled from 3 - 11 July 2024 via 14 flights operated by Malaysia Airlines facilitating the return of the pilgrims from Mecca.
Senai International Airport is honoured to be part of this annual operation that was achieved through the joint coordination of Malaysia Airlines and Tabung Haji. The seamless operation underscored the commitment and dedication of all parties involved in ensuring the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.
The first phase of the Hajj operation commenced on 17 May 2024 until 29 May 2024, when 1,988 pilgrims embarked on their sacred journey to the Holy Land. During these periods, Tabung Haji coordinated and managed the whole process from registering the Hajj pilgrims to assembling their luggage and checking it in, conducting the final briefing at Departure Hall, and assisting them during flights.
On 22 May 2024, YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz Bin Ghazi attended a simple send-off ceremony organised by Tabung Haji and Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAINJ) where the Chief Minister of Johor meet and greeted a group of pilgrims under the Rombongan Kerajaan Johor (RKJ). YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz took the opportunity to deliver a heartfelt speech and offer his prayers and well-wishes.
The conclusion of the Hajj operations at Senai International Airport not only signifies a successful end to a sacred journey but also reinforces the airport's capability in facilitating large-scale operations with efficiency and care.
