On 28 and 29 August 2025, Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad (AIR Berhad) a member of MMC Group, conducted a two-day clean-up initiative at the Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) Water Treatment Plant. The initiative featured key tasks such as desludging, cleaning operations and maintenance of the surrounding areas to enhance safety and cleanliness.
Volunteers from AIR Berhad were divided into dedicated teams to ensure thorough coverage of the plant and smooth coordination of all activities. Beyond improving the facility’s environment, this programme also provided staff with valuable, hands-on exposure to plant operations, strengthening teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of shared responsibility. The strong participation from all teams ensured the initiative was carried out effectively.
AIR Berhad was entrusted to undertake a Build-Operate-Transfer from MAHB and also to operate and maintain the WTP for the duration of 10 years. The project incorporates a vertical design concept to reduce land acquisition, optimise space utilisation and minimise environmental disruption. This project reflects MAHB's inaugural commitment towards sustainability especially in the water supply sector through its green initiatives of having a self-sustaining treated water supply.
