In conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul 1447H celebration, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, continued its community outreach efforts through two Ceramah Perdana programmes held in collaboration with local mosques in Perak and Johor.
The first programme, organised with Masjid Khairul Jariah Segari, took place on 4 September 2025 with the participation of the Kampung Segari community. The ceramah was delivered by esteemed guest speaker Ustaz Elyas Ismail. Among those present were Nafees Hashim, Director of Corporate Communications, Manjung Municipal Council; Sjn Muhammad Faizal Abdullah, Deputy Head of Segari Police Station; and Tuan Haji Razak, Chairman of Masjid Khairul Jariah.
The programme was further enriched by a heartfelt recitation of Surah An-Naba’ by adik Aiman, a proud son of Kampung Segari who was crowned District-level Champion of Manjung and secured third place at the State level in Perak for Hafazan.
The second celebration was held on 21 September 2025 at Masjid Nooh Gadot, Mukim Serkat, Johor. The Ceramah Perdana was led by YB Sahibus Samahah Dato’ Dr Haji Nooh Gadut, Chairman of the Muzakarah Committee, National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia and Advisor to the Johor Islamic Religious Council.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests including Tuan Haji Ghazali Haji Ayub, Chairman of Masjid Dato’ Haji Nooh Gadot; Nor Hazam Md Jais, Penghulu of Mukim Serkat; Tuan Haji Shafee Kadar, Secretary of the Islamic Orphan Welfare Association of Pontian District; Tuan Haji Kamarudin Buntat, Official Representative of the State Assemblyman for Kukup; Shuhara Mashud, Senior Community Development Assistant, Department of Rural Development, Tanjung Piai Parliamentary Constituency; as well as other community leaders. Representing Malakoff was Mohd Kopli Yunus, Senior Vice President of the Local Generation Division.
The programme also featured family-friendly activities such as a colouring contest for kindergarteners, an egg flower arrangement competition among villages and an Azan recitation contest, fostering community spirit and unity.
Both initiatives embody United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, promoting collaboration built on shared values and collective aspirations. They also reflect Malakoff’s purpose of “Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities” by fostering meaningful relationships with local communities.
As Malakoff commemorates its 50th anniversary this year, the celebration is a timely reminder of the company’s commitment to strengthening community bonds, nurturing shared values and creating long-term impact beyond energy generation.
