Johor Port Welcomes Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency Director General in High-Level Working Visit

On 14 July 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, was honored to welcome CP Dato' Sri Mohd Suhaily Mohd Zain, Director General of the Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA), for a high-level working visit. The visit underscored the vital role that Ports play in safeguarding and strengthening national borders while facilitating smooth and secure trade flows.


The day's program commenced at the Pasir Gudang Passenger Terminal (PGPT), where CP Dato' Sri Mohd Suhaily met with Heads of Key Government Agencies in Pasir Gudang. This initial session provided an opportunity to discuss the strategic importance of Johor Port's operations in supporting Malaysia's border control and trade facilitation objectives. Following this, the delegation was taken on a comprehensive operational tour of Johor Port. Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Head of Free Zone & Property Department together with his team, provided in-depth briefings  on the Port's Operational activities such as cargo handling processes and operational protocols. Discussions covered both the challenges faced in managing high-volume trade flows and the opportunities to enhance Operational efficiency while maintaining  robust security measures.


The visit concluded with a strategic meeting at the Al Haqq Meeting Room of Jabatan Kastam DiRaja Malaysia (JKDM) Pasir Gudang, where participants engaged in meaningful dialogue on enhancing inter-agency collaboration. Topics included streamlining enforcement processes, strengthening intelligence sharing and improving coordination between MCBA, Johor Port and other Enforcement Agencies to bolster Malaysia's Border Security framework.


This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment between Johor Port, MCBA and Government stakeholders to uphold national security while ensuring that Malaysia's ports remain efficient, competitive and resilient. Johor Port is proud to contribute to this vital national agenda and looks forward to fostering stronger partnership to further enhance Malaysia's border protection capabilities.
