Undertaken by MMC Infra Padi, this project focuses on upgrading tertier irrigation and incorporating modern technologies in paddy cultivation. With a target of achieving five planting seasons over two years, the initiative is expected to reduce the nation’s reliance on imported rice and increase its Self-Sufficiency Level. Key components include the construction of 15 tertiary irrigation system blocks and the comprehensive rehabilitation of Pedu Dam Phase 1, supported by an allocation of approximately RM1 billion.
Although the project is scheduled to commence officially on 1 August 2025, MMC Infra Padi has mobilised ahead of schedule to expedite the implementation of its first phase, reflecting its strong commitment to delivering the project on time.
