On 1 and 2 July 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the distinct privilege of hosting a high-level delegation from the Kuching Port Authority. This significant two-day visit underscored the ongoing commitment to fostering strong inter-port collaboration and promoting knowledge exchange within Malaysia's vital maritime sector.

The delegation was led by YB Azizul Annuar Adenan, Chairman of Kuching Port Authority, accompanied by Robert Lau Hong Thiam, General Manager and Datuk Ian Brian James, Port Advisor to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak. Their presence highlighted the strategic importance of this engagement for both organisations.

The visit commenced with a comprehensive briefing at Wisma Kontena, where the delegation was given an overview of Johor Port's integrated port services and its strategic role as the Southern Gateway for regional and international trade. This was followed by a guided tour of the Container Terminal, led by Juhaimi Hashim, Head of Container Terminal Department, which showcased Johor Port's advanced operational capabilities and robust infrastructure.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the port's diverse cargo-handling capabilities with a site visit to the Break Bulk Terminal. Mohd Rafizal Esmail, Head of Bulk & Breakbulk Terminal Department, provided valuable insights into these specialized operations.

Johor Port remains dedicated to initiating and supporting such collaborative initiatives. These engagements are fundamental to strengthening partnerships and sharing best practices among Malaysian ports, ultimately contributing to the sustained growth and advancement of the nation's maritime and logistics ecosystem.
