Alam Flora's Efforts in Collection of Recycled Goods in Kuantan Records 82% Increase

Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora) has successfully recorded an 82 percent increase for the collection of recycled goods in Kuantan, especially after its Drive-Thru Recycling Centre (DTRC) was established two years ago at Taman Gelora.

This centre is one of the initiatives introduced by Alam Flora in an effort to raise community awareness as well as  participation in cultivating recycling practices.  At DTRC, Kuantan visitors and residents can easily sell their recycled goods while supporting environmental sustainability efforts and the conservation of vital natural resources.

In the year of 2022, a total of 22 tons recycled goods were collected. Whilst in 2023, a total of 40 tons were collected from the months of January to August, through resale activities at the Buy-Back Centre  in Taman Gelora and Kuantan City Centre, as well as the Trash to Cash programme organised by Alam Flora at the residential areas around Kuantan, which receivedfavourable responses from participants.

In connection with this, on 14 October 2023, Alam Flora organised Karnival Saya Sayang Bumi 2023 to continuously raise awareness and promote the importance of environmental care as well as  recycling practices among the Kuantan community. This carnival organised for the first time by Alam Flora, is the latest initiative in raising the awareness of environmental issues and to support environmental sustainability efforts, especially in Pahang.

The carnival is also in line with the state Government's desire to promote environmental sustainability and recycling practices, in an effort to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the state of Kuantan. Karnival Saya Sayang Bumi features a variety of programmes, performances and activities for all ages and provides an opportunity for local residents to learn more about the importance of proactively taking care of our planet, along with exhibitors  participating in the carnival.

Karnival Saya Sayang Bumi is also in line with Sustainable Development Goals 12, which is the use and production that promotes and advocates towards sustainable infrastructure as well as energy sources.
