PTP Becomes First Organisation in Malaysia Certified by

the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply

On 5 October 2023, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, received recognition from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) as the first corporate organisation in Malaysia to be certified with the CIPS Corporate Ethical Procurement and Supply, for its outstanding effort in meeting world class procurement ethical standard.

The certification handover was done in a ceremony held at the Port Briefing Room, PTP by Jonathan Cheung, CIPS ASEAN Regional Development Advisor to Ts Dr Irwana Abdul Malek, PTP Head of Supply Chain Division and witnessed by Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, PTP Chief Financial Officer.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is a global professional body working for the procurement and supply profession in many regions of the world. CIPS provides world class training modules, e-learning, and assessment to its professional clients such as the CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply e-Learning and Assessments, specially designed for corporate clients.

PTP has consistently showcased continuous commitment towards procurement best practices when it became the first company in Malaysia to win the Best Procurement Team of The Year for Small Organisation award at CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023, having won the category for two consecutive years since 2022. These achievements are a reflection of PTP as a leader in the procurement field.
