On 18 November 2023, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, hosted the 11th edition of the Northport Futsal Challenge 2023 for its key customers and stakeholders. The tournament was held at Frenzy Sports Arena, Section 16, Shah Alam and was officiated by Northport's General Manager, Commercial, G. Ulaganathan.
This year's event was organised to commemorate the 60th anniversary of port operations at North Port, serving as a special gesture of appreciation to Northport's customers and industry stakeholders for their unwavering support in fostering the Company's growth.
The tournament brought together 24 teams from various business segments and government agencies, saw PCD Logistics emerged as the champion, followed by Wan Hai Lines (M) Sdn Bhd and Transworld GLS Sdn Bhd securing second and third place, respectively. Mohd Nor Ashraf from Transworld GLS Sdn Bhd was crowned the Top Scorer with an impressive 16 goals throughout the tournament.
Northport's General Manager, Terminal Operations, Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin and Head, Marketing & Customer Service, Commercial, Darren Tan Keng Giap presented the prizes to the winners.
The Northport Futsal Challenge 2023 offered a platform to nurture camaraderie and foster networking opportunities within the shipping and logistics industry in a fun, friendly and enjoyable environment.
