Johor Port Facilitates Insights Sharing with Samalaju and Miri Port Authorities on Free Zone Success

In October 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, welcomed a study visit from the Samalaju Port Authority and Miri Port Authority. The primary goal of this visit was to provide the board of directors, and the management teams of the authorities with an in-depth understanding of Johor Port's Free Zone operations.

The delegation, led by Datu Chiew Chee Yau, from the Ministry of Port Infrastructure and Development, Sarawak, explored key aspects of the Free Zone's functions, operational efficiencies and its role in supporting economic activities in the region. This visit underscored Johor Port's commitment to fostering collaborative learning and knowledge-sharing across Malaysia's port network, showcasing its expertise in managing a Free Zone area that supports diverse trade activities.

Johor Port's Free Zone area has long been a strategic hub for import and export operations, offering attractive incentives for businesses while facilitating seamless international trade. Through this engagement, the Samalaju and Miri Port Authorities gained valuable insights into how Johor Port optimises these operations to enhance efficiency, streamline logistics and support economic growth.
