On 3 November 2024, Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, has successfully inked a strategic partnership with Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) to fortify Johor's talent pipeline.
Through this collaboration, PTP is set to develop impactful programmes that nurture skilled talents and support the local economy, and tentatively pave the foundation for sustainable industry growth. PTP's collaboration will also encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise across various sectors, while exploring further opportunities to enhance workforce readiness.
JTDC was officially inaugurated by Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre. The ceremony was also graced by Dato' Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Johor Menteri Besar; Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, Higher Education Minister; Dato' Sri Abdul Rahman bin Haji Mohamad, Deputy Human Resources Minister; Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Johor State Secretary; and Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad bin Haji Maslan, Deputy Works Minister.
As part of the JTDC launch, PTP participated in the three-day job carnival, offering job opportunities and hosting a specialised training session titled "The Immersive Engineering Safety in Port". This training, held in collaboration with Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), showcased port safety standards through virtual reality technology, aligning with the IR4.0 vision and had successfully attracted university students and members of the public, all of whom received certificates upon completion.
Through strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders who are responsible for developing human capital such as with JTDC, PTP reaffirms its commitment to developing local talent and contributing to Johor's economic growth. This initiative not only strengthens PTP's position as a leading employer but also positions Johor as a hub for skilled talent and innovation.
