MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMC Engineering), a proud member of the MMC Group, has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving three prestigious Malaysia Book of Records awards. These accolades recognise the company's exemplary structural work on the Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) 14-Line Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Hangar at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The awards were presented by Christopher Wong, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Book of Records, to Shafidz Azhar, Director of Corporate Services, MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, in a ceremony attended by Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad. This significant moment took place during the official launch of ADE's state-of-the-art facility at KLIA. As the main contractor, MMC Engineering was entrusted with the design and construction of this groundbreaking project, which sets new benchmarks for engineering innovation and industry excellence in the aviation sector.
The accolades include distinctions for: the Longest Single Span Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) System Rafter, the Longest Locally Designed Single Span Truss Frame System, and the Longest Vertical Hangar Door (Megadoor). These honors not only highlight the architectural and engineering excellence of the facility with the capacity to house two (2) wide-body and fourteen (14) narrow-body aircrafts, but also mark Malaysia's growing prominence in the global aerospace sector.
These awards underscore MMC Engineering's unwavering commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure solutions, further solidifying the company's position at the forefront of Malaysia's engineering and construction landscape. The state-of-the-art hangar is now recognised as one of the largest and most advanced aircraft MRO hubs in Asia.
