On 8 October 2024, Tanjung Bruas Port Sdn Bhd (Tanjung Bruas Port), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with Johor Port Skills Centre, hosted an Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Policy Awareness Talk at Tanjung Minyak, Melaka. The event was attended by 30 port contractors and suppliers together with Tanjung Bruas Port's management and staff.
Two speakers were invited for the talk, to share valuable insights to the participants. The first speaker, Siti Kamariah Md Shahrin, Senior Manager of Corporate Planning and Risk Management emphasised the importance of strict anti-bribery practices and the role of contractors in maintaining ethical standards at the port. Siti Kamariah further outlined Tanjung Bruas Port's current anti-corruption policies and encouraged personnel to commit to these standards and foster a transparent work environment.
The second speaker, Nur Asraf Samin, Senior Internal Auditor from the Governance & Investigation Unit shared the importance of whistleblower policies. During his talk, he explained the protection and confidentiality the policies provide to the reporters. He urged participants to see the policies as an important tool for fighting corruption and ensuring accountability at the port.
The ABAC Policy Awareness Talk serves as a shared commitment between Tanjung Bruas Port, suppliers and contractors in order to promote integrity and transparency.
