From 9 to 12 October 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, continued its commitment to promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through its participation in the Klang Sustainable Convention 2024 ESG For SDG.
The event, held at the MBDK Hall, Bandar Bukit Raja, gathered participations from local authorities, government agencies, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, and corporate organisations. The 4-day convention was launched by Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA).
The event, organised by the Royal Klang City Council, aimed to strengthen the implementation of ESG principles across various sectors, aligned with the requirements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the convention, Dato' Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Northport's Chief Executive Officer, participated as a panellist in a forum session titled "ESG to Green Port Industries". On the closing day, Dato' Azman also shared valuable insights on "Northport's ESG Initiatives" during a Breakout Session.
Northport has established a strong commitment to promoting and upholding ESG principles as part of the company's responsibility. Northport's participation in the Klang Sustainable Convention 2024 ESG For SDG further demonstrates company's dedication in supporting the development of sustainability, particularly for the local community.
