On 30 October 2024, Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (Senai Airport City), a member of MMC Group and Chenbro Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chenbro Micom Co., Ltd., had entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for approximately 15.06 acres of industrial land at Senai Airport City Free Industrial Zone.
The SPA signing ceremony was held at MMC Corporation Berhad's headquarters and attended by Tan Sri Che Khalib, Chairman of Senai Airport City, accompanied by Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of Senai Airport City. Meanwhile, Maggi Chen, Chairman of Chenbro Micom Co., Ltd., was accompanied by its senior management.
Chenbro is publicly listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange and a global leader in Integrated Enclosure Solutions for the Cloud Industry such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). Chenbro's partner with tier-1 technology leaders includes Nvidia, Wistron, Intel & Microsoft etc.
Tan Sri Che Khalib stated, "The establishment of Chenbro, who is an alliance to the technology giants in the AI and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry created comprehensive technology solutions and this is in tandem with our strategy to further enhance this current industry cluster in Senai Airport City".
Gan Seng Keong added, "Chenbro's investment decision to strengthen their global manufacturing base to serve the Southeast Asia region is a testament to Senai Airport City. Senai Airport City is home to numerous Foreign Direct Investors (FDIs) and Domestic Direct Investors (DDIs) that has established their Hi-Tech manufacturing facilities, Research & Development centres and Regional Distribution Centres (RDC) catering to the global market and leveraging on the synergistic opportunities amongst MMC Group's industrial facilities at our ports, namely Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) & Johor Port".
Maggi Chen stated "Chenbro will actively continue to create global localized production with lean technological capabilities and low-carbon green facilities for the rising demand of the AI industry. To date, Senai Airport City has developed Phase 1 and 2, totalling approximately 1,500 acres of industrial development and ready to launch its Phase 3, covering approximately 350 acres, providing ready infrastructure for more quality investments in 2025 with final stage negotiations with numerous high-value FDIs.
