On 8 to 10 November 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group was part of the Karnival Madani Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor 2024.
The fantastic event, organised by Johor Port Authority, showcased the vibrant life in the port industry and offered a variety of exciting activities for all ages including the annual Explorace, engaging exhibition, insightful talks, and creative colouring contests.
Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli Bin Mohamad Salleh, Chairman of the Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure, and Communications Committee of the State of Johor, representing the Chief Minister of Johor officiated the Closing Ceremony of the Karnival Madani Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor 2024 accompanied by Tuan Haji Rosnan Bin Fathlal, Johor Port Authority Chairman and Dato' Monaliza binti Suhaimi, General Manager of Johor Port Authority.
In his speech, Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli also extended his congratulations to PTP for achieving a record-breaking throughput of 1.115 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units in August and consistently reaching the one-million mark in consecutive months. He expressed his hope for PTP and other ports in Johor to continue strengthening Johor's economy as part of the Southern Gateway. PTP was also presented with a token of appreciation, received by Dr. Irwana Malek, Head of Supply Chain, alongside Nasution Saad Putra, Head of Government Liaison & Free Zone Authority, and Eric Yap, Head of Business Development.
As a leading player in Malaysia's maritime industry, PTP actively engaged with the community throughout the carnival. In addition to participating in the exhibition, PTP team also hosted an annual port tour, inviting the public to experience firsthand the operations of Malaysia's largest transshipment hub.
PTP is delighted to have been part of this successful event and looks forward to future opportunities to strengthen ties with the community and contribute to the growth of the local port and maritime industry.
