On 14 May 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, took a significant step in fostering international Maritime collaboration by welcoming a high-level delegation from PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (PELINDO). The delegation was led by Sumarno, President Director of PELINDO’s PT Pendidikan Maritim dan Logistik Indonesia (PT PMLI), alongside their senior executives. The delegation participated in a half day programme, hosted by Johor Port’s JP Skills Centre (JPSC) at the Oasis Training Centre, designed to offer real-world insights into global port operations, digitalisation and sustainable logistics practices. Key highlights of the visit included an in-depth presentation on JPSC’s role in workforce upskilling and port innovation, delivered by Rohaizan Tajuaid, Head of JP Skills Centre, a guided port tour showcasing Johor Port’s cutting-edge Container Terminal and Bulk cargo operations including an interactive leadership dialogue featuring Johor Port’s senior management led by K C Low, Head of Corporate Affairs Division and Edwin Gerard, Chief Operating Officer, who shared insights on operational strategies, crisis management and future industry trends.
