On 14 May 2025, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, established a strategic partnership with Bukit Kayu Hitam ICD Sdn Bhd through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU marks a strong commitment by two key players in the region’s logistics network to drive progress and unlock new opportunities.


Dato' Seri Syed Mohamad bin Syed Murtaza, Chairman of Penang Port and Dato' Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Port, were in attendance to officiate the momentous occasion, underscoring the significance of this collaboration for the future of logistics in the region.


This MoU establishes a foundation for future collaboration and mutual exploration, demonstrating a genuine commitment to open dialogue and the exchange of best practices. Both organisations maintain their independence and the freedom to engage in separate collaborations, fostering a dynamic and competitive environment.


The MoU emphasises a collective vision for a more streamlined and interconnected logistics framework in Northern Malaysia, ultimately boosting the region's economic growth.
