On 12 April 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, played a pivotal role in the successful and safe arrival of Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd's (F&N) first commercial batch of 2,500 Holstein dairy heifers from Chile. The livestock carrier carrying these animals docked at Johor Port, marking a significant milestone as Malaysia’s largest importation of breeding cattle. F&N commended Johor Port on its operational efficiency in ensuring the seamless unloading and smooth transfer of the cattle to their new home at F&N AgriValley in Gemas over a three-day period.
Johor Port takes pride in facilitating this landmark agricultural import for F&N. Having handled the yearly importation of cattle for the Aidiladha celebrations, Johor Port’s experienced team and custom designed infrastructure are well prepared and equipped to handle this specialised cargo of Holstein dairy heifers through a streamlined process while ensuring the welfare of the livestock. This successful operation further underscores Johor Port’s commitment to supporting key industries within Johor and in advancing Malaysia’s agricultural development initiatives.
The arrival at Johor Port was the culmination of a carefully planned voyage from Santiago, Chile, aboard a specialised livestock carrier. Throughout the journey, dedicated handlers ensured the well-being of the cattle, monitoring their health, nutrition and comfort. The vessel was equipped with optimal ventilation and provided ample feed and water to minimise stress and maintain an ideal environment for the heifers.
