On 17 April 2025, Senai Airport City had the honour of receiving the Anugerah Rakan Kongsi Bestari from Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) Johor. The award was presented during the Hari Bersama Pelanggan JKDM Johor at Menara Kastam, Larkin, Johor Bahru, in recognition of organisations that have forged strong partnerships with JKDM Johor in advancing the nation’s revenue, economic growth and development.
A vital part of this success stems from the continuous efforts of the Senai Airport City Free Zone team and the close collaboration with the JKDM Johor. This strong synergy has significantly streamlined operations and elevated investors’ confidence towards Senai Airport City.
Among the notable enhancements is the implementation of the Free Zone Integrated Processing System (FZIPS), a digital platform designed to ease the reporting and documentation processes which has enhanced the efficiency of customs procedures while creating a more seamless experience for businesses and stakeholders.
Operational efficiency has also been significantly strengthened through the examination bays tailored for both large and small trailers. These bays are equipped with enhanced safety measures, complemented by auxiliary police security units patrolling on electric motorbikes, as well as a comprehensive CCTV perimeter system that ensures smooth, secure and well-regulated movement of goods and personnel in and out of the Free Zone.
In response to the growing public demand and interest, Senai Airport City is expanding its Free Zone area by an additional of approximately 250 acres, bringing the total area to 650 acres which will be comprising of Free Industrial Zone and Free Commercial Zone. This proactive move demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to industrial development catering to a wide range of business needs.
To date, approximately 85% of the Free Zone land has already been successfully occupied by prominent investors such as Hershey (M) Sdn Bhd from USA, Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain and SICK from Germany and Wiwynn Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd from Taiwan, among others.
