On 10 August 2022, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a Member of MMC Group launched 5 units of Consumables Vending Machine in a simple ceremony at PTP’s Engineering Building & Workshop.

The event attended by PTP’s Senior Management Team, PTP’s Supply Chain team and representatives from KVC, saw Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer PTP together with Ts. Dr. Irwana Abd Malek, Head of Supply Chain Division (SCD) PTP, Hesham Ahmed Mohamed Ali Nossier, Head of Engineering & Facilities Division and Ko Cheng Han, Executive Director, Commercial KVC officiating of vending machines for consumable items in PTP.

The launch of these consumables vending machines is part of SCD inventory holding and take cost out (TCO) strategy to further improve warehouse operation focusing on consumables items located in THS01, Consumable store, Engineering Building. In addition, this initiative supports PTP’s digital transformation by digitalizing and automating processes.

Convenient and cost efficient, the vending machine now allows employee to get the item they need without having to wait and with consignment strategy, items in the machine are replenished as and when required. Aside to that, smart features of the machines also include automated report generated by the machine and ease-of-use experience that will surely improve the productivity and modernize the way of work.

The launch of the consumables vending machines is part of SCD’s commitment to provide and improve service level for internal and external stakeholders.
