In tandem with Senai Airport City’s (SAC) continuous marketing and post-sales facilitation efforts, SAC on 12 September 2022, organised a development progress updates and site visit to Mercedes-Benz’s Regional Logistics Center (RLC) in Senai Airport City. Representatives from Mercedes-Benz were Annemallai Veerappan, Director of Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific and Christian Taruth, Project Manager of Mercedes-Benz Global Service and Parts.
The session was also attended by YB Tuan Lee Ting Han, Chairman of Johor State Investment, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss, Yang Di Pertua, Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) along with MPKu’s senior officers and Shahzul Jayawirawan, Director, Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Johor. Welcoming the delegation were Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of SAC and management team of SAC.
The session opened with SAC highlighted the key advantages of Senai Airport City as the strategic investment hub for manufacturing and logistics sectors, followed by the opening remarks by YBTuan Lee Ting Han highlighting of Johor recording the highest investments received in Malaysia for first half 2022 amounting to RM60.9 billion, the highest ever recorded by the state. This was followed by the presentation from Mercedes-Benz on their RLC development progress at SAC. Subsequently, the delegation proceeded for a site visit to the RLC facility to appreciate the latest development progress up close.
SAC was selected as the site for RLC hub serving the Asia Pacific Region. The 1,100,000 sqft RLC will serve as the sales and distribution center for spare parts and the construction is targeted to be completed by early 2023. SAC continuous engagement with the strategic stakeholders especially the investors and government agencies are crucial marketing strategies to build SAC’s reputation as the preferred master-planned industrial park.
