On 5 July 2022, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) and Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), members of MMC Group, received an inaugural working visit from the Economic Planning Unit of Negeri Sembilan, Royal Malaysian Customs Department of Negeri Sembilan, Department of Town and Country Planning of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysian Investment Development Authority of Negeri Sembilan, Invest Negeri Sembilan, Majlis Bandaraya Seremban and Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson.
The delegations made their first visit to the Johor Port Authority (JPA) where they were welcomed by Ahmad Salhin Mustapa, JPA’s Head of Corporate Services and Development, and briefed by Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Johor Port’s Head of Free Zone and Property on the Port’s Free Zone Authority and development update. They were then taken for a quick port tour in Johor Port.
The delegations then continued their visit to PTP and were welcomed by PTP’s General Manager of Government Liaison, Nasution Saad Putra Saad and fellow team members. Delegates were then given a comprehensive presentation on PTP’s operational performances, the ports progress and its on-going development and contribution of the port industry towards the nation’s economic sustainability before ending the visit with a tour of PTP’s terminal and container yard.
The working visit aims to learn about the Free Trade Zone in the Southern region as the State Government of Negeri Sembilan is working on developing their first Free Trade Zone to catalyse the State’s economic and investment growth.
