Johor Port Berhad Employees’ Union Bags Two Awards

at Perhimpunan Keluarga Kesatuan Sekerja Se-Malaysia 2022

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, through its Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union bagged the Anugerah Kesatuan Sekerja Cemerlang 2022 Sektor Swasta and Anugerah Pemimpin Kesatuan Sekerja Contoh 2022 Sektor Swasta at Perhimpunan Keluarga Kesatuan Sekerja Se-Malaysia 2022, which was inaugurated by YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia, recently.  

"We are pleased with the awards received by the Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union. These awards inspire us to implement greater initiatives and efforts towards human resource development by promoting a culture of learning and leadership to develop the skills and enhance the competency of our employees," said Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port.

Meanwhile, Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad added, "The recognition given to the Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union is a great achievement as it speaks volumes of the progressive working environment that we inculcate within the MMC Group of Companies.”

Tuan Haji Suratmin Haji Alwee, President of the Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union accepted the two awards on behalf of the Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union.

In addition to empowering the role of trade unions, the assembly and award ceremony which was held on 20 September 2022 at Shah Alam Convention Centre also aimed to show appreciation and recognition to the trade union activists who have contributed towards the national socio-economic development.

Prior to receiving these awards, Johor Port Berhad Employees' Union also recently received an award, the Anugerah Kepimpinan Kesatuan Sekerja Negeri Johor presented by Kamal Pardi, Director General of Malaysian Trade Unions on 11 September 2022.
