On 20 September 2022, SPT Services Sdn Bhd (SPTS), a subsidiary of Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) recently received the maiden call for the export of sulphur product at the Solid Product Jetty (SPJ) Terminal at Pengerang Integrated Complex. HOSEI 68 safely berthed at SPJ with a capacity of 11,000 metric tons of sulphur.
This maiden call marks the first handling, loading and export of sulphur product at SPJ since the start of operations in 2019. During the event, Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and Director of SPTS together with Mohamed Suffian Abd Manaf, General Manager of SPTS welcomed Captain Liu Changlong, the Master of the vessel, Haji Zahri Zainal Abidin, Head (SPW, Jetty & Logistics) of PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd and Azizul Hassan, Senior Manager Business and Services of PRefChem.
SPJ is a tailor-made facility to manage the volume produced by the Pengerang Integrated Complex as well as to ensure the timely export of oil and gas industry products such as polymer (containerised) and sulphur to the market. PETRONAS’ subsidiary, PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd has granted the operatorship of the Solid Product Jetty Terminal at Pengerang Integrated Complex to Johor Port, which includes the provision of Operating Equipment, Systems and Manpower to manage Operations and Maintenance of the terminal.
The 25 years of concession granted to Johor Port is a clear sign of PETRONAS’ confidence in Johor Port’s capability and commitment.
